XBOX LIVE ARCADE HEXIC 2
PRICE: 800 POINTS
DEVELOPER: CARBONATED GAMES
ACHIEVEMENTS: MEDIUM

On Reflection

If you really MUST have a Hexic game (we can’t imagine why on Earth that would be), get Hexic HD… it’s free and this one’s not. However, if you have to spend money and want a decent puzzler, try Puzzle Quest or Puzzle Fighter 2 instead.

The Score

We’re not sure what the point of this release is. Obviously, anyone reading this piece will have the original title safely stored away under (or perhaps above) their televisions, having cost them the princely sum of nothing at all and, by and large, it’s hard to tell the two games apart. Yes there are new jewels to deal with, plus a two-player Battle mode, which works by increasing and decreasing how much of the board each player can move, but it’s certainly not seven quid more entertaining than what came before. Only a point’s worth, in fact. Back to the drawing board then…

6 out of 10
