On Reflection

In our own little X360 world, we imagine a day where all XBLA titles are like Geometry Wars. Fast. Addictive. Fun. Oh, but wait… isn’t every third game to appear on XBLA a duel-stick shooter that’s clearly trying to be exactly that? Well, yes, but all of them bar a couple of exceptions have failed to nail three important gameplay elements; fastness, addictiveness, and fun-ness. Geometry Wars is the Don.

The Score

Far and away the most popular, most talked about, most played Xbox Live Arcade game. The demo in Project Gotham Racing 3 didn’t hurt its cause and neither does the high-score chasing nature of its gameplay. What’s more, unlike most Xbox Live arcade games, this looks awesome enough to make your eyes bleed with joy.
