On Reflection

We don't like this, but for some reason a portion of you do. We’re even ashamed of having accrued the Achievements; it’s like a stain on our character.

The Score

This is not what Xbox Live Marketplace was created for. “Now in high definition!” does not mean “now includes pretty borders!” and likewise, shouting about global leaderboards is all well and good but this is hardly a hardcore gaming challenge to pump adrenaline into the deadest of hearts, inspiring men to become immortals, trailblazing through the leaderboards to rule as Dig Dug King Of The World. Zzz.

But hey, that’s Dig Dug for you, a game that sucked in 1982 and amazingly, sucks even more in 2008. Move around, dig through rocks, and blow up enemies by inflating them. As the levels get harder, the enemies speed up. Wow. It’s not quite as bad as Frogger but Christ, you would be hard pushed to find a game that is. “That’s not the point!” retro enthusiasts cry. Perhaps not, but like we said at the beginning of this review, this is definitely not what Xbox Live Marketplace was originally created for.
