XBOX LIVE ARCADE CYBERBALL 2072
PRICE: 400 POINTS
DEVELOPER: DIGITAL ECLIPSE
ACHIEVEMENTS: MEDIUM

On Reflection

We seriously doubt that games of the future will be called things like ‘Cyberball’, but then, we seriously doubt that games like this will ever see the light of day in 2072. It still has rarity in the sense that there aren’t any other robot-based American football games on XBLA, but that doesn’t stop it from being sh*t.

The Score

There’s a multitude of brilliant arcade games that are owned by Midway, so why are we playing trash like Cyberball 2072 when we could be experiencing the joys of Spy Hunter, Gauntlet 2 or Super Sprint?

For those unaware, Cyberball is essentially a futuristic take on American football, which features giant robots. While it’s obviously going to have a huge nostalgic fan base with Americans, it was never that popular in the UK. Of course, that wouldn’t really matter if the game was up to scratch but, sadly, Cyberball is a real mess of ideas that tries hard but just doesn’t have what it takes.
