Borderlands has been selling rather spectacularly well for a title that risked little more than niche appeal, and it seems Gearbox is happy enough with its achievements to begin talking of the inevitable.
“Everyone here loves the franchise,” said CEO Randy Pitchford, speaking on behalf of his Gearbox chums. “And it seems like the public is really coming back with praise and love. So yeah, if everything makes sense, Borderlands 2 seems like a no-brainer to me.”
He continued, “I mean, with anything, especially a new IP, if people want more and you can make more, and everybody can make money and do good business there, it obviously makes really good sense to do that.”
Say it like it is, Randy. While we still look forward to the day when the 360 top 10 contains fewer games with 2, 3 or even 6 next to their titles, there’s always room for more Borderlands in our gaming landscape.
