Super Street Fighter IV corrects glaring oversight in style
Street Fighter IV is a great, great game
Street Fighter IV is a great, great game. The perfect combination of both style and substance brought Street Fighter back to the mainstream and helped kick off a fighting game renaissance. But something was missing; something that gamers of a certain vintage would lament the loss of. It was, of course, the bonus stages.
Super Street Fighter IV is rectifying this problem in fine style, reintroducing the car-smashing and barrel-breaking bonus rounds to break up the action. Can this game get any better? Yes, as long as they tone down Sagat. He’s ridiculous.

Oh I am soooo looking forward to this. Modern Warfare 2 be hanged, Super Street Fighter 4 is where it’s at.
But Bonus Stages were the only thing missing? The latest advertising drip feed from Capcom that reveals the bonus stages also goes in to great detail about the new online modes that are coming – things like being able to chat and watch the ongoing fights in the lobby whilst waiting your turn. Not only should these modes have been in Street Fighter 4, they were already in other beat em ups like Soul Caliber 4. Street Fighter 4 had an embarrasingly shite ‘lobby’ system. In fact, I don’t think it even deserves the term lobby system.
And Sagat is ridiculous? I rarely have trouble with Sagat online. But Ryu? Now Ryu is ridiculous…
